Cycling along the Mosel Valley
The Mosel (or Moselle in French) Valley, flowing between the Eifel and Hunsrück massifs, is the closest to the UK of Germany's premier cycling regions. Here you follow the course of one of the most dramatic rivers in Europe as it makes its way along deep open curves covered with striking wine slopes. These slopes usually rise to superb wooded and rocky landscapes.
Cochem Mosel Schleife
Vines have grown on the Mosel since Roman times. Today many of Germany's finest wines are made here. Highly picturesque small towns such as Bernkastel and Cochem are also characteristic of the Mosel Valley.

Much of the route is either dedicated cycle path, or where alongside a road, on a dedictated cycle track.

We offer two slightly different tours along the Mosel Valley. Both take you from Trier via Neumagen and Enkirch to Cochem. You then have the choice of either continuing to the end of the river where it joins the Rhine at Koblenz, or returning to Trier by train (with your bike and baggage) in order to get to know the oldest city in Germany better.
Daily distances are in the 28 to 33 mile per day range.
