Cycling in Upper Bavaria and the Allgäu
The part of Upper Bavaria between Munich and the alps offers some of the most popular cycling country in the whole of Europe. As you head south from Munich you soon reach the Bavarian Lake Country. Next you come to the rolling grasslands which are the home of wonderful Bavarian dairy products. This is the Pfaffenwinkel, an area noted for its baroque churches and monasteries. Finally you come to the dramatic Alps in the south.
Allgäu Lake
Lake in the Allgäu
We offer two cycling tours in this part of Germany. The Royal Bavarian Cycle Tour is more demanding and takes you right down south to the alps, while the Ammersee Tour is more gentle and includes many opportunities to stop and swim. This is the ideal tour for families with young children.

Whichever you choose, you will find gentle hills and attractive villages, with many striking examples of Baroque and Rococo architecture.
Cyclists Neuschwanstein Castle
As well as the world famous abbeys and churches, you will pass the towns of Landsberg and Diessen, the lake of the Ammersee and on the longer tours head south to the Royal Castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau and the alps.
